Provide specialized medical care for elderly patients. Perform comprehensive geriatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans. Manage chronic conditions, coordinate healthcare services, and provide guidance on end-of-life care. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on geriatric health issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized medical care for elderly patients.
  • Perform comprehensive geriatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Manage chronic conditions, conduct medication reviews, and coordinate healthcare services.
  • Provide guidance on end-of-life care and advance care planning.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on geriatric health issues.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of a residency program.
  • Board certification or eligibility in geriatric medicine.
  • Proficiency in geriatric assessments, medication management, and palliative care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassion and empathy for the unique needs of elderly patients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
