Paragon Home Healthcare is seeking a caring carer to support a fun-loving gentleman with a spinal cord injury. Candidates who are licensed, confident drivers are preferred. This client enjoys laughter, getting along with his carers, and going on outings—making this a truly enjoyable and fulfilling opportunity.

📍 About the Role:

Location: Paignton, Devon—a stunning seaside hotspot with beautiful beaches, a lively pier, and incredible coastal views just minutes away.

Client personality: A sociable joker who loves forming connections and making the most of life.

Driving perks: Help him get out and about to enjoy his favourite activities. Driving is straightforward with easy parking and accessible destinations nearby. Preference will be given to carers who are confident drivers with a clean driver's license.

Daily support: Assist with personal care, mobility needs, and companionship in his beautifully adapted home, empowering his independence while providing friendly and reliable support.

📆 Rota & Pay:

Rota: 3 weeks live-in, followed by 3 weeks off. Alternatively, if eligible, you can be a part of our Standby rota, working conveniently from home.

Pay rate: £140.47 Per day

Travel allowance: Competitive travel allowance for each placement.

🫶 Live-In Care Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care, mobility, meal prep, and daily living activities.
  • Provide support with spinal injury care and encourage independence.
  • Observe and record the client’s health status, and ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Arrange transportation for appointments, outings, and travel when required.

📍 Location: Devon TQ4

🚗 Driver: Preferred – the client goes out every day and carers who are licensed drivers will need to drive the client's adapted vehicle and be happy to help with regular community outings.

Training & Support:

Paragon is a specialist provider of spinal cord injury and complex care. You’ll receive full training before you start, and where possible, time will be given to get familiar with the care routine. No previous experience with spinal care is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and record the client's health status.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living.
  • Ensure the client's safety.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Notify clients of changes in medications.
  • Arrange transportation for client appointments.
