Description
We are seeking a full-time live-in Private Chef for a high-net-worth family based in Chigwell to start in August. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional, adaptable chef who enjoys preparing fresh, nutritious meals and is looking to become a valued part of a private household. The family consists of two children, a newborn baby, and a nanny.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing daily meals for the family, with a strong focus on fresh, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. In addition to cooking, you will oversee the day-to-day organization and management of the kitchen, ensuring it remains well-stocked, clean, and efficiently run. While there are no specific dietary requirements, the family appreciates healthy, high-quality home cooking using seasonal ingredients. We are looking for an experienced private chef looking for a long-term role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner as required.
- Plan varied, nutritious, and family-friendly menus.
- Shop for ingredients and manage kitchen supplies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-managed kitchen.
- Cater for occasional guests when required.
- Adapt to the family's schedule with a flexible and professional approach.
- Accompany the family on occasional travel if requested (potential travel to the Caribbean later in the year, although this is not essential).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
