Lived Experience Learning Disability, Co Trainer - Herts/Buck/Camb
Do you have Lived Experience of a Learning Disability and would like to become a Co Trainer, delivering Oliver McGowan Training locally in your community. We currently have a need for applicants living in and around these areas: Cambridge East Buckinghamshire Hertfordshire North London - Barnet and Enfield North & West Bedfordshire North West London - Brent, Harrow South Bedfordshire - Luton & Dunstable West London - Hillingdon & Ealing We offer a blend of: Work from home (online delivery of Tier 1) with face-to-face delivery locally ( within 1 hour of home) of Tier 2 programmes If you have a learning disability and feel comfortable sharing your experiences to help others learn? We have the perfect opportunity for you. Your lived experience is essential to delivering the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism. We will fully fund your training and support you every step of the way so you can become a confident Co-Trainer, delivering sessions online and (if you choose) in person. You will always work alongside an experienced Facilitator Trainer who will support you throughout. Training and Support We want you to feel confident and supported in your role: All training is fully funded Ongoing support from our dedicated Employability Team Help with reasonable adjustments to suit your needs Mentoring and guidance throughout your journey The Role As a Co-Trainer with Lived Experience, you will: Co-deliver Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training Tier 1: Online sessions delivered from home Tier 2 (optional): Face-to-face sessions within around 1 hour of your home Share your personal experiences in a safe, structured, and positive way Help health and social care staff understand what good care and communication look like Work closely with another trainer to deliver engaging and inclusive sessions Support the development of accessible and engaging training materials Act as a professional ambassador for people with learning disabilities About You We are looking for someone who: Has a learning disability and experiences they feel comfortable sharing to other people who are learning Is passionate about improving understanding and respect Feels confident speaking to groups, or is willing to build confidence Enjoys working as part of a supportive team Is open to learning and personal development Can travel locally if choosing to deliver face-to-face sessions You do not need previous training experience — we will provide everything you need to succeed. We also measure the impact of our training in improving care and helping to save lives for people with learning disabilities and autistic people.
