Livestock Lairage Operative
Lairage Department Team Member – Dunbia West Devon
We are seeking the ideal candidate to join our established and experienced Lairage Department at Dunbia West Devon.
Shift Pattern
After completing training, the shift operates on an alternating weekly rotation:
- Week 1: Monday to Friday
- Week 2: Monday to Thursday & Sunday Some flexibility will be required, including adherence to a shared call-out rota.
Core Responsibilities
Your role involves:
- Booking cattle using company systems
- Handling and managing livestock in line with animal welfare best practices
- Adhering to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (training provided)
- Maintaining a fast-paced, production-focused environment
- Achieving departmental targets through collaboration with the team and manager
- Enforcing Health, Safety, and Hygiene standards
- Upholding the highest standards of animal welfare

Requirements
- No prior experience necessary – Full training provided
- Essential:
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Computer literacy
- Comfort working with animals
- Ability to meet deadlines and work flexibly
- Positive, proactive attitude
- Strong team player ethics and commitment to company Mission, Vision & Values
- Preferred:
- Full UK Driving License (with access to a vehicle)
- Ability to commute from a rural location (limited public transport)
