An exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician with experience in load testing, site-based engineering services, and structural testing projects. Ideal for candidates experienced in testing equipment, technical reporting, fault finding, and nationwide site work.

Salary & Benefits
- £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)
- 33 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
- Pension scheme
Location & Work Type
- Nationwide site-based work (minimum 95% travel)
- Small percentage of work at our Laboratory in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire (CH66)
- Full-time, permanent
- 37.5+ working hours per week
- 6-month minimum probation
Critical Requirement
- Full and valid UK driving licence (6 points or less – no active convictions)
Job Overview
We are seeking a Load Testing Technician / Site Testing Engineer to join our team delivering specialist load testing, structural testing, and on-site engineering services.
As a Load Testing Technician / Site Testing Engineer, you will:
- Support nationwide site projects across construction and engineering
- Perform load and structural testing activities
- Install and prepare testing equipment and temporary systems
- Record and analyse test data, producing technical documentation
- Ensure activities comply with safety, efficiency, and project specifications

Duties & Responsibilities
Your role will include:
- Load Testing & Structural Inspections: Conduct on-site testing across engineering and construction projects
- Equipment Setup: Install and prepare load testing equipment, monitoring devices, and temporary systems
- Testing Support: Assist with product testing, commissioning, and engineering inspections (both site and workshop)
- Technical Reporting: Document test results and prepare technical reports for client approval
- Fault-Finding & Troubleshooting: Identify equipment issues and implement corrective actions
- Client Liaison: Communicate effectively with clients and site teams for efficient project delivery
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and service testing equipment for compliance and readiness
- Test Rig Assembly: Build and adapt rigs to meet project requirements
- Health & Safety Compliance: Stand by all company RAMS and site safety regulations
- Documentation & Record-Keeping: Complete accurate site logs, test reports, and daily activity records
- Team Collaboration: Work with engineers, technicians, and subcontractors for successful project delivery
- Site Housekeeping: Maintain clean, organised, and safe environments across all working areas

Candidate Requirements
Essential
- GCSEs in English, Mathematics, and Science
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Construction/Engineering (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in:
- Load testing
- Site engineering
- Structural testing or engineering support
- Testing equipment, fault-finding, and technical problem-solving
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures within construction, engineering, or industrial sectors
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Full UK driving licence (≤ 6 penalty points)
- Strong organisation, attention to detail, and nationwide travel flexibility
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Desirable
- Degree in Construction, Engineering, or related discipline
- CSCS Card
- Experience supporting nationwide site projects
- Knowledge of structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering principles
