Role Title: Loan IQ Product Specialist

Location: London/2-3 days per week onsite

Duration: 31/12/2026

Overall purpose of role

A key component of the Wholesale Lending Strategy is the implementation of a new Loan Processing Application, Loan IQ. This is a multi-year programme of work.

The purpose of this role is to add Loan IQ Application specific expertise to the Core Platform Implementation teams [Operations and Technology] to help ensure design decisions taken with regards to the implementation of Loan IQ follow industry best practice and to leverage experience of past implementations where appropriate.

Activity may also include supporting business and process analysis activity, facilitating the evaluation of solution options and supporting the definition of acceptance criteria amongst other things.

The successful candidate will be working on the delivery of a major core platform implementation.

Key Accountabilities

The Loan IQ Product Specialist will be expected to provide expert Loan IQ knowledge across a broad range of activities and work-streams through the project implementation life cycle including:

  • Functional analysis of Loan IQ against various business requirements
  • Detailed analysis of integration with bank systems, including with regards Loan Trading, Accounting, Risk
  • Detailed analysis of reporting requirements
  • Booking models and workflows for different Wholesale Lending products
  • Loan IQ Configuration and Accounting Mapping definition workshops
  • Test planning and execution support
  • Migration strategy definition, planning and support
  • Analysis of specific issues and proposal of solution options to broader stakeholder group for decision
  • Collaborate with LoanIQ migration leads to identify migration requirements and define mappings
  • Manage requirements in adherence to standards and governance to enable effective project management and delivery across a large programme

As this is a large and complex program, we anticipate that the Loan IQ product expert will grow their internal business, functional and technical knowledge such that they will be able to actively participate in all aspects of the implementation of the new platform, so a degree of flexibility is key.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership

The role holder will interact with a broad range of stakeholders across the bank including Operations, Technology and Functions, as well as the application vendor.

They will be expected to work closely with all stakeholder groups as required to support the various programme work streams, and facilitate the groups in making the right decisions.

They will build strong trust-based relationships with all stakeholders such that when making requests it will be understood that there is a purpose behind any such request.

They will need to be able to strike the right balance between tact and diplomacy and assertiveness.

Decision-making and Problem Solving

A key part of this role will be to assist the implementation teams in solving difficult problems, evaluating options and making the right decisions. The role holder may be working across multiple work streams and on a number of issues in parallel and will need the ability to:

  • Clearly communicate requirements and design/solution options to stakeholders to facilitate decision making, build consensus and define approaches in a mutually agreeable way
  • Assimilate information quickly into structured thinking, and to challenge and question to build greater understanding
  • Challenge and/or propose improvements to the way we do things, whether related to the way that we manage, administer or communicate about the project
  • Engage in identifying and implementing solutions to challenges related to delivering a large programme across multiple business areas and regions

Risk and Control Objective

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Policies and Policy Standards.

Person Specification

  • Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts, both verbally and in writing, such that they can be understood by a wide-ranging audience
  • Ability to produce and communicate option assessments to drive consensus building and decision making
  • Experience of working within a structured project management framework, ideally with experience of agile methodologies
  • Be decisive, prioritise effectively, maintain a clear focus and see action through to delivery
  • Is energetic, determined, positive, goal focused and consistent - even under pressure
  • Builds trust and demonstrates integrity in all circumstances

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

  • Expert level knowledge of Finastra Loan IQ
  • Understanding of Wholesale Lending products and business processes, including Financial Accounting and Risk Management (Credit or Market Risk)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Skilled in use of Microsoft packages, including Teams, Sharepoint, Powerpoint, Visio

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree level educated [Or equivalent]
  • Experience of managing requirements in Jira and documentation in Confluence
  • Working knowledge of project management tools and techniques, including waterfall and agile methodologies
