Local Community Ambassador

Job Summary

The Local Community Ambassador plays an important role in raising awareness of OutsideClinic’s expert audiology and optical services within their local community.

Acting as a trusted and independent local presence, you will build relationships and open doors to organisations and individuals who may benefit from our services. This role is focused on visibility, trust, and warm introductions. Success comes from meaningful conversations, strong local relationships, and helping people understand the care and support available to them in their own homes.

Background

OutsideClinic was founded in 1987 and now provides over 100,000 at-home eye tests and 10,000 at-home hearing tests each year. The business has revenues of £40m and employs 300 people. They serve the 75+ age group, supporting those who find it difficult to visit the high street.

Role Details

  • Salary: Hourly pay plus a small additional payment for successful introductions
  • Hours: Zero hours (flexible)
  • Location: Bristol and surrounding areas
  • Expenses: Mileage reimbursement paid at an agreed rate

Responsibilities

This role involves:

  • Proactively connecting with organisations and groups in your local area (typically within a 30-mile radius)
  • Introducing OutsideClinic’s audiology and optical services through friendly and professional conversations
  • Building relationships with:
    • Independent opticians
    • Pharmacies
    • Community groups
    • Charities
    • Independent and assisted living schemes
  • Attending local events, gatherings, or coffee mornings (if comfortable doing so)
  • Leaving informative leaflets where helpful
  • Making warm introductions to OutsideClinic when there’s interest
  • Logging activities and introductions in a simple, supported way

This role would suit someone who:

  • Enjoys chatting, networking, and building relationships
  • Has a professional background, ideally in healthcare or related sectors
  • Can represent a trusted healthcare service with professionalism and responsibility
