About This Role
Shape the Future: Become a Local Governor at King’s Group Academies
Do you want to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people in your community?
King’s Group Academies is seeking committed and enthusiastic individuals to join our Local Governing Bodies and help shape the future of our academies.
At KGA, our vision is “Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage.” We believe every child deserves an exceptional education that opens doors, builds character and prepares them to thrive in an ever-changing world. Local Governors play a vital role in making this vision a reality, providing support, challenge and community insight to academy leaders.
This is a voluntary, strategic role with real impact. You will not be involved in the day-to-day running of the academy, but you will help to ensure the right priorities, culture and safeguards are in place so that every pupil can flourish.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
