Permanent | Grade C | £35,412 – £44,075 per annum (Consultation grade – subject to formal evaluation under the Equal Pay Programme)

About Birmingham City Council’s Ladywood Regeneration
The Ladywood Regeneration “Meanwhile Offer” places neighbourhood management at the heart of creating safe, stable, and well-managed communities during the regeneration period. Guided by the Resident & Community Charter, this initiative commits the Council to:
- A visible on-the-ground presence
- Stronger community capacity
- Effective communication and engagement
- Enhanced estate standards
- Comprehensive resident support
We are seeking a dedicated Housing Officer to lead this approach within Ladywood’s regeneration area. This pivotal role will act as the operational link between residents, regeneration teams, and council services, ensuring a coordinated, responsive neighbourhood management presence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Neighbourhood Management
- Maintain a consistent on-site presence, leading neighbourhood activity across Ladywood.
- Coordinate estate walkabouts, address environmental issues, and proactively respond to resident concerns.
- Manage core housing functions, including:
- Tenancy management
- Anti-social behaviour (ASB) casework
- Safeguarding
- Tenancy sustainment strategies

Support for Vulnerable Residents
- Identify and support vulnerable residents, collaborating with third-sector and community partners.
- Work with Asset Management to ensure homes remain safe and habitable, focusing on:
- Repairs, damp, and mould
- Regulatory compliance
Cross-Sector Collaboration
- Partner with community safety, health, and voluntary organisations to provide wrap-around support and prevent issue escalation.
- Serve as the single point of contact for delivering housing-related elements of the Meanwhile Offer.
Resident Engagement & Impact
- Lead resident engagement through:
- Surgeries
- Home visits
- Community forums
- Support delivery of the Resident & Community Charter.
- Proactively address concerns to mitigate reputational and operational risk through transparent and proactive communication.

This is a high-impact, visible position critical to stabilising the neighbourhood during significant change. Your work will contribute to resident confidence in regeneration efforts, underpinned by:
