Salary: £62,000.00 - £76,000.00 per year

We are seeking a Locality Manager (Customer and Neighbourhoods) to lead the delivery of proactive, customer-centric services while supporting our mission and vision.
Role Overview
This role, based in Bristol, involves managing a team responsible for tenancy and neighbourhood work across a locality covering Bristol and Gloucester. You’ll work in a hybrid environment, spending two days per week in the office, and will require travel across our geography as needed. A license to drive or access to reliable transport is mandatory.
Reporting: This position reports to one of our Regional Directors of Localities.
You’ll manage a team of up to 12 people, including:
- Locality Officers
- Anti-Social Behaviour Officers
Your duties will include setting team direction, fostering professionalism, and supporting performance through feedback and guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership:
- Act as a visible and approachable leader.
- Foster a high-performing and supportive team environment.
- Service Delivery:
- Oversee all strategic and operational elements of service delivery in your locality, focusing on customer, lease, and tenancy management.
- Help customers achieve and sustain stable tenancies.
- Work collaboratively with Locality Managers (Property Services) and other cross-functional leaders to meet corporate objectives and customer vision.
- Develop strategic partnerships and relationships with:
- Local authority partners
- Statutory agencies
- Local elected members
- Residents and community stakeholders
- Digital Engagement:
- Maintain an active digital presence within the locality.
- Engage with customers to gather feedback and develop innovative, community-centred solutions.
- Social Impact & Engagement:
- Ensure locality activities drive positive social outcomes.
- Lead resident engagement and co-creation of services where appropriate.
- Targets & Performance:
- Collaborate on setting, tracking, and monitoring achievable targets aligned with:
- Performance
- Service standards
- Financial goals
- Customer satisfaction and value for money

Qualifications & Experience
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- Work Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar senior tenancy and neighbourhood management role.
- Experience in managing teams and operations in a large, multi-disciplinary organisation.
- Strong background in performance improvement and quality housing services across tenures.
- Financial Awareness:
- Ability to track, forecast budget utilisation and ensure value-for-money services.
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Exceptional ability to:
- Inspire and support employees
- Facilitate team performance and communication
- Hold teams accountable while being decisive within tight deadlines
- Exceptional ability to:
- Customer-Centric Skills:
- Excellent customer service record in complex operational environments
- Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to influence, negotiate, and challenge as needed
- Excellent writing and verbal skills
- Professional Development:
- Membership or working towards membership of CIH (Chartered Institute of Housing) or an equivalent professional body is preferred.
