About the Company

We are a crowdfunded company with a dedicated and enthusiastic community of backers who are helping us create the “Best Damn Space Sim Ever”. We believe wholeheartedly in the value of exceptional diverse talent.

Our various international communities deserve the best localization support - our Localization QA Specialists are a vital part of the process.

You will get a chance to work directly with the internal Localization department and execute our LQA needed to test our games before release to our international audiences. The role goes beyond just bug hunting – you will be our champion of quality standards & collaborate with different teams to ensure our content meets our benchmarks for every language. Our goal has always been to deliver the best quality – your support will directly impact the way our content is presented for each locale.

Founded in 2012, Cloud Imperium Games creates cutting-edge videogames that defy expectations. We’re currently developing Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single-player adventure set in the same universe. What do our Localization QA Specialists do?

Although the LQA Specialist’s role is quite varied, the responsibilities boil down to these primary areas:

  • Assisting in running the LQA processes for various locale versions of the games.
  • Preparing and assessing the latest localization builds, conducting comprehensive testing passes, and quick spot checks.
  • Owning day-to-day triage and review of bugs and issues during the testing phases.
  • Collaborating with internal team members and external vendors to deliver fully localized and tested content.
  • Maintaining testing documentation and contributing to LQA best practice guidelines.
  • Supporting our growth culture and advocating knowledge sharing within your team and vendors.

What are we looking for?

About

If you are passionate about making games accessible to the wider international audience, then you are halfway there! Although, we do need you to know some specific skills, like:

  • Native speaker of one of our target languages: German, French, Spanish (Spain or Latin America), Korean, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Italian, or Portuguese (Brazilian).
  • Previous experience in localized content testing or game QA, with special interest in the sci-fi genre.
  • Experience with bug tracking and test management systems.
  • A good understanding of LQA tools, Localization workflows and testing best practices.
  • Recognizing the importance of communication with vendors and your own team members.
