Neonatology Grade C (Tier 1) Band 5 – Neonatal Unit
Job Overview
This post offers exposure to a busy Local Neonatal Unit, delivering over 4,500 births annually. The successful candidate will receive support in developing clinical and procedural confidence within a structured and consultant-led service.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the clinical activities of the Neonatal Unit as part of the Tier 1 rota.
- Attend deliveries and lead neonatal resuscitation with Tier 2 support.
- Review babies on the neonatal unit and postnatal wards, contributing to the day-to-day management of infants in:
- Special Care
- High Dependency
- Short-term Intensive Care
- Demonstrate timely recognition of clinical deterioration, ensure appropriate escalation, maintain clear documentation, and facilitate effective communication within the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to audit, quality improvement, and teaching activities.
- Work on a 1 in 9 cover basis on the Tier 1 rota.
- Deliver clinical and quality targets aligned with both national and local requirements, in collaboration with clinic teams and commissioners.
- Follow patients throughout their clinical pathways.
