3-Month Fixed Term Post – Gastroenterology Registrar

About the Role

An exellent opportunity has arisen to join the expanding patient-centred and supportive Gastroenterology department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting time to join a还是 team, supporting inpatient and outpatient transformation as part of a blended workforce while developing Luminal and Liver services. Our Gastroenterology and Liver service is one of the busiest in the UK, providing a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for all gastroenterological conditions.

Our JAG-accredited, high-performance Endoscopy unit delivers ~15,000 procedures annually, acts as a spoke centre for the North-West Endoscopy Training Academy, and serves as the administrative hub for Bowel Cancer Screening in Lancashire.

This role offers exceptional training and experience in Gastroenterology, with opportunities to pursue a National Training Number (NTN) and subsequent careers in speciality. The Trust is an NIHR Patient Recruitment Centre, providing support for audit, quality improvement projects, and research in Gastroenterology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the timely, safe, and high-quality delivery of Gastroenterology and Liver pathology services.
  • Asist with the transformation and recovery of inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology pathways.
  • Provide Endoscopy training support during rotations, including:
    • Up to 8-list Endoscopy training schedules tailored to trainee requirements.
    • Participation in monthly Endoscopy trainee meetings with a dedicated training lead.
  • Engage in a training-enhanced on-call commitment, enhanced by:
    • Covering 7-day gastroenterology in-reach services.
    • Providing Speciality reviews and ward rotations on a rotational basis.
  • Undertake departmental administrative duties for the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
