Position Summary

Are you ready to take on an exciting opportunity? We’re seeking a dynamic candidate for a 12-month maternity cover for Location HR Manager in Barnstaple. This role offers a unique chance to gain invaluable experience, drive HR strategies, and accelerate your professional development in a supportive environment.

Your Main Responsibilities (not Exhaustive)

  • Provide line managers with support, guidance, and clarification on all matters relating to people management.
  • Manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability, and performance matters, ensuring fair and consistent processes.
  • Drive initiatives focused on employee engagement, performance management, talent acquisition, and talent development.
  • Support the full recruitment cycle across the site for all permanent roles.
  • Manage the site apprenticeship programme, including attracting and selecting candidates, coordinating development, monitoring progress, while working closely with the local college and mentors to improve delivery, outcomes, and the overall scheme.
  • Manage compensation, benefits, and performance review processes.
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment law, HR policies, and best practice.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.

Who We Are Looking For

  • University degree or CIPD Level 5 with relevant experience in an HR management or advisor role.
  • High level of customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to forge good working relationships at all levels within the organisation.
  • Well-balanced strategic and operational mindset with a strong results orientation.
  • Solid practical knowledge of UK Employment law and Parker Policies.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
