Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) – Temporary Role
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne Salary: £45/hour (weekdays), £50/hour (weekends/overtights) | Employment: Temporary
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) based in Berwick, working within On-Call (OOH) services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care for patients across all ages (child to elderly)
- Support palliative care patients (hands-on experience a plus)
- Perform out-of-hours (OOH), triage, centre visits, and home visits
- Prescribe independently across multiple sites when required
- Commit to regular shifts with flexibility to cover availability
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and engagement in onboarding

Requirements
Essential:
- Out-of-hours (OOH) experience (GP surgery, urgent care, or similar preferred)
- Prescribing capability (fully qualified independent prescriber)
- **Masters-level qualification (or equivalent/completion of Master’s in Practice Nursing)
- On-call site flexibility – willingness to cover multiple locations
- Local residence required (access to shifts for rapid mobilisation)

Desirable:
- Previous involvement with palliative or end-of-life care
Training Requirements (for OOH posting)
Mandatory Pre-employment Training:
- Online Induction (1900–2200, midweek evening)
- Palliative Care Training (1900–2030, midweek evening)
- Shadowed Shift (4-hour observership pre-independent practice)
- Further in-situ training, as applicable
