Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) – North Tyneside
Role & Location
- Role: Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)
- Location: Berwick, North Tyneside
- Employment Type: Temporary
Salary
- Weekdays: £45 per shift
- Weekends: £50 per shift
- Overnight: £50 per shift
Key Responsibilities
- See and treat all ages of patients
- Willing to provide care for palliative patients
- All shifts may include:
- Triage duties
- Centre-based visits
- Home visits
- Must be committed to supporting a wide range of clinical settings, including;
- NHS walks-in centres
- GP surgery triage
- Home visits
- OOH shifts (including weekends and evenings)
- Urgent care clinics

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Hold or be working towards a Masters-level qualification (e.g., MSc in an Advanced Clinical Practitioner pathway)
- Must be an independent prescriber (V100) with a clear prescription licence
- OOH/GP surgery or urgent care experience is preferred
- Must live locally to ensure reliable attendance for shifts
Soft Skills & Commitment
- Highly reliable and able to commit to the onboarding process
- Willing to work flexible hours and fill last-minute gaps
- Open to shadowed placements (4-hour shift) before working independently

Training Requirements
To work in Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and OOH services, the following is mandatory:
- Online induction (typically evenings 1900–2200, midweek)
- Palliative care training (evenings 1900–2030, midweek)
- A 4-hour shadowing shift before independent practice
