Fixed term (1 year) Locum Appointments for Training in Paediatrics at ST1 level

Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, Full time (40 hours per week) post based in RHCYP/ RIE.
Applications are invited for Locum appointments for training at ST1 level. These posts will be backfilling vacancies in the clinical services caused by maternity leave and other absences. All posts involve working alongside the Paediatric ST trainees and provide the same educational opportunities as the ST placements. The posts will include 6 months of general paediatrics and 6 months of tertiary neonatal care.

Documented competencies achieved through LAT posts can count towards CCT (if subsequently appointed to a Paediatric Specialty Training Programme) or may count towards a CESR application.
To Practice Medicine In The UK You Need To Hold Both GMC Registration And a License To Practice. To Be Eligible For a LAT Post You Must Have Evidence Of Achievement Of Foundation Competences In The Three And a Half Years Preceding The Advertised Post Start Date For The Vacancy, Via One Of The Following 4 Methods:
- Current employment in a affiliated foundation programme.
- Current employment in a GMC approved Specialty Training Programme holding either a National Training Number (NTN) or Deanery Reference Number (DRN).
- A Foundation Programme Certificate of Completion (FPCC) from a UK affiliated foundation programme.
- 12 months medical experience after full GMC registration (or equivalent post licensing experience), and a.
This post has deanery approval for training and the successful applicant will receive training opportunities at the appropriate level based on previous experience.
There may be a possibility to extend this appointment to the end of the training year. The extension may be at any of the hospitals on the rotation.
