Job Title: Locum Acute Dietitian

Banding: Band 6

Location: West Middlesex University Hospital, London

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Ongoing

Hourly Rate: £25-28

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Acute Dietitian to join the adult acute dietetics team at West Middlesex University Hospital, part of Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled dietitian with inpatient experience to work within a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality nutritional care across a range of specialist clinical areas.

The successful candidate will support the dietetic department in managing adult inpatients and will have experience working with patients requiring oral nutritional support, enteral feeding, and total parenteral nutrition (TPN).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist dietetic assessment and treatment for adult inpatients across a variety of acute clinical areas
  • Manage patients with complex nutritional needs, including those requiring TPN and enteral feeding
  • Deliver evidence-based oral nutritional support interventions
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
  • Develop and implement individualised nutritional care plans
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development initiatives
  • Support the delivery of high-quality inpatient dietetic services across the Trust

Qualifications and Experience

  • HCPC registered Dietitian
  • Experience working at Band 6 level or equivalent within an acute hospital setting
  • Inpatient experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Frailty
    • General Medicine
    • Gastroenterology
    • Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)
  • Experience managing enterally fed patients
  • Strong knowledge of oral nutritional support and nutritional assessment
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
