About the Role
Pulse is seeking an experienced Band 6 Podiatrist to provide locum services for Hertfordshire Community Trust in the St Albans area, with a focus on:
- Community-based podiatry
- Diabetic foot care
- Lower limb management
The role emphasizes patient-centred care, particularly for individuals managing complex conditions. Successful candidates will contribute to improving patient outcomes through expert clinical support and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality podiatry services in a community setting
- Manage a diverse caseload with a priority on diabetic foot care and complications
- Conduct assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of lower limb conditions
- Perform nail surgery procedures (requires local anaesthesia certification)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., diabetes specialists, nurses)
- Maintain accurate clinical records using SystemOne
- Lead health promotion and patient education initiatives

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- HCPC registration as a Podiatrist
- Certificate in local anaesthesia (community-based Podiatrists)
- Post-registration experience in diabetic care (preferably in NHS/community settings)
- Strong understanding of lower limb complications linked to diabetes
- Proficient in using SystemOne
- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle (essential for community mobility)
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with collaborative working in NHS/community podiatry teams
