Banding: Band 8a Location: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital Start Date: ASAP Duration: 3 months with option to extend Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 (to be confirmed) Hourly Rate: £35–36
About the Role
Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Band 8a Pharmacist – Aseptic Services to join the team at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Ideal for a highly skilled pharmacist with recent acute NHS hospital experience, this role will support the delivery of specialist aseptic pharmacy services in a fast-paced hospital setting.
The successful candidate will be pivotal in ensuring the safe, effective, and compliant provision of aseptic products, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to uphold the highest standards of patient care and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist pharmaceutical support to aseptic services within the Trust
- Ensure the safe and effective preparation, supply, and management of aseptic products
- Support compliance with legislation, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and local policies
- Offer expert clinical and technical advice on aseptic services where necessary
- Contribute to quality assurance, risk management, and governance activities
- Collaborate with pharmacy, nursing, and medical teams to enhance patient care outcomes
- Support the continuous development and improvement of aseptic pharmacy services

Qualifications & Experience Required
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Recent NHS acute hospital experience essential
- Demonstrable expertise in Aseptic Services
- Strong understanding of:
- GMPbest practices
- Quality assurance frameworks
- Relevant regulatory requirements
- Exceptional clinical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Enhanced DBS clearance required
