About the Role
The postholder will be part of a team which we are developing to re-invigorate and develop our acute medical and same day emergency care services. This post will work across acute internal medicine, with a focus on the acute medical unit, same day emergency care and links with our emergency medicine department. The postholder will be key to developing and leading changes to our services which we are developing to better support patient flow and education and training opportunities.
Developing pathways and services that can be brought to our new hospital rebuild, planned to complete in the near future. The post is advertised as 10 PAs. There is a possibility of additional PAs in discussion with the Divisional Director for Unplanned Care. Further subspecialty interests including specialty clinics and service development will also be welcomed and accommodated within the job plan, in addition to the Medical Specialties mentioned above.

Responsibilities
- Be part of a team developing acute medical and same day emergency care services.
- Focus on acute medical unit, same day emergency care, and links with emergency medicine department.
- Lead and develop changes to services to support patient flow and education and training.
- Participate in medical on call (acute take) rota.
- Provide effective and comprehensive service in developing medical SDEC/ ambulatory care services.
- Work closely with ED and surgical colleagues for quality improvement and service development.
Requirements
- Highly motivated individual with strong leadership, education, and change skills.
- Committed clinician with a track record of excellent clinical service delivery, quality improvement, teaching, and training.
- Participation in annual job planning and appraisal required for revalidation.
