Locum Consultant in Breast Radiology
Job Details
Employer: NHS Lanarkshire
Position: Locum Consultant Radiologist with a subspecialty interest in Breast Radiology
Availability: August 2026
Location: University Hospital Wishaw, with potential cross-site working at University Hospitals Monklands and Hairmyres
Responsibilities
- Investigation and management of benign and malignant breast diseases
- Comprehensive training in breast radiology including one-stop clinics, MRI, tomosynthesis, contrast mammography reporting, and wireless localisation of impalpable breast cancers
- Full range of procedural skills such as US and stereotactic biopsy
Job Details
- Fixed-term basis for an initial period of six months, extendable up to nine or twelve months based on performance
- Full-time post on a 10 PA basis; part-time applications considered
- Encouraged proposals for additional SPA time
- Eligibility for honorary status at the University of Glasgow for those involved in teaching, research, or scholarship
