Locum Consultant in Breast Radiology
Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant Radiologist with a subspecialty interest in Breast Radiology. This is a replacement post and is available from the start of August 2026. The appointment will be to NHS Lanarkshire, based at University Hospital Wishaw but cross-site working between University Hospitals Monklands and Hairmyres may be required. The job is a breast radiology only post with no on-call but general radiology sessions could be incorporated if required.
Responsibilities
- Involved in the investigation and management of both benign and malignant breast disease
- Comprehensive training in breast radiology including one-stop clinics, MRI, tomosynthesis, and contrast mammography reporting and wireless localisation of impalpable breast cancers
- Experience in a full range of procedural skills such as US and stereotactic biopsy

Terms of Appointment
- Offered on a fixed-term basis for an initial period of six months
- Subject to satisfactory performance and service requirements, the appointment may be extended for a further period of three or six months
- The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis but applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full-time
- EPA’s may be available for both part-time and full-time positions
- Proposals for additional SPA time from applicants are encouraged
