Locum Consultant in Emergency Medicine
12 months fixed term
Part time – 8 PAs (32 hours per week)
Salary Scale - £111,430 - £148,064 per annum pro rata

About the Role
NHS Forth Valley seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the emergency medicine team. This post is a maternity leave cover and it is hoped that further substantive posts will be available subject to funding approval. The existing permanent medical staff team consists of 12 Consultants, 4 Emergency Medical Practitioners, and 5 Specialty Doctors, providing senior care and leadership in Forth Valley’s Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Expected to have a high clinical profile with the drive and initiative to achieve and sustain the highest standards of emergency medical care.
- Maintain the shop-floor presence of senior emergency physicians, enhancing consultant-delivered care.
- Contribute to the supervision and shop-floor training of junior medical staff.
- Provide consultant support to a nurse-led Minor Injuries Unit at Stirling Community Hospital.

Requirements
- Full GMC registration and a licence to practise.
- Registered with the General Medical Council.
- On the Specialist Register for Emergency Medicine or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a CCT at the time of interview.
- Evidence of recent continued academic and professional development.
- Excellent communication, listening, and organizational skills are essential.
