Fixed Term Consultant Post in Acute Medicine – Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH)
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical roles. This is a fixed-term post lasting 12 months, with a standard 40-hour working week. The shift pattern for this position will be confirmed once the candidate is confirmed.
About the Role
We are inviting applications for a Consultant position based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH), joining the team within the Acute Medicine department.
Key Responsibilities
— Roles and duties will align with full Consultant level responsibilities, including—but not limited to— — Delivering high standards of care in Acute Internal Medicine (AIM) and/or General Internal Medicine (GIM) — Leading and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams — Participating in clinical governance and service improvement — Undertaking educational and training responsibilities for junior doctors

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Full GMC registration and a valid licence to practise are essential.
- UK-trained applicants must provide evidence of:
- Higher Specialist Training leading to a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Acute Internal Medicine or General Internal Medicine, or
- Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) in corresponding specialties, or
- Be within 6 months of confirmed entry into a postgraduate specialty training programme (from the date of interview).
- Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
