Locum Consultant Radiologist – Immediate Start (Cork)
Actionus is recruiting an Irish Medical Council registered Locum Consultant Radiologist for an immediate start in Cork. This is a stable weekday hospital assignment with strong extension potential, consistent diagnostic workload, and on-site parking. The role is ideal for radiologists seeking predictable daytime hours and a supportive clinical environment.
Role Overview
- Hours: 09:00–17:00, Monday to Friday
- On-call: None
- Modalities: CT, Ultrasound, plain film reporting; Fluroscopy if competent
- Contract: 3–6 months (initial 2–3 months with likely extension)
- Pay: €125–€150 per hour
- Location: Cork
- Job Type: Full-time, Temporary

This assignment supports a busy radiology department, delivering high-quality diagnostic reporting across core modalities. You will work closely with clinical teams to ensure timely, accurate imaging interpretation that supports patient flow and clinical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality diagnostic reporting across CT, Ultrasound, and plain film.
- Perform Fluoroscopy examinations where competent.
- Review clinical histories, prior imaging, and relevant documentation.
- Deliver clear, evidence-based radiology reports aligned with hospital protocols.
- Communicate effectively with referring clinicians.
- Support MDT discussions where required.
- Maintain accurate documentation within RIS/PACS systems.
- Uphold IMC, HSE, and departmental governance standards.

Essential Requirements
- IMC Specialist Registration in Radiology.
- Proven competence in CT, Ultrasound, and X-ray reporting.
- Fluoroscopy experience, if available.
- Ability to start immediately.
- Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills.
