Locum Pharmacist Prescriber
Location: Fully Remote (UK)
Contract: Locum
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Minimum 25 hours per week Rate: £35 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Locum Pharmacist Independent Prescriber to join our growing online pharmacy team. This is a fully remote opportunity offering a minimum of 30 hours per week, with an immediate start.
As a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber, you will deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based prescribing within a digital healthcare environment. Working in line with our established prescribing protocols and clinical governance framework, you will use your professional judgement to ensure high-quality patient care while supporting the operational needs of the business.
You will work collaboratively with our Senior and Lead Prescribers and take ownership of your prescribing practice, maintaining high standards of clinical quality, efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently assess and prescribe for patients in line with clinical risk assessments and in-house prescribing protocols.
- Deliver safe, evidence-based prescribing within your scope of competence.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation.
- Apply sound clinical judgement to every prescribing decision.
- Escalate clinical concerns appropriately to Senior or Lead Prescribers.
- Participate in clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to a supportive, collaborative, and high-performing clinical team.

Essential Requirements
- GPhC-registered Pharmacist.
- Independent Prescriber qualification.
- Strong clinical judgement and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Commitment to patient safety and delivering high clinical standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced online pharmacy environment.
Desirable
- Previous experience within an online pharmacy or digital healthcare setting.
- Experience working within protocol-led prescribing services.
- Familiarity with clinical audit and governance processes.
