Do you want a role that takes you outdoors, on the road, and onto some of the most interesting drilling sites in the country? Igne are seeking a motivated and technically capable Logging Engineer to join our Specialist Drilling team in Daventry. You will be working closely with the Director of Specialist Drilling and the Geophysics Manager, you will be responsible for acquiring high-quality borehole geophysics data across a wide range of project sites throughout the UK.
This is a hands-on, field-based role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, travelling, and operating specialist equipment within geotechnical and drilling environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of wireline logging equipment safely and efficiently from our specialist logging vehicle.
- Monitor real-time data acquisition to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Carry out equipment checks, calibrations, and basic troubleshooting on site.
- Maintain accurate field logs, job reports, and data records.
- Collaborate with geotechnical engineers, drillers, and site supervisors to meet project objectives.
- Follow all company HSE procedures, site safety plans, and IGNE policies.
- Assist with equipment maintenance, cleaning, mobilisation, and demobilisation.
- Travel to remote sites and work flexible or extended hours as required.
- Support senior management with additional tasks when needed.

Person Specification
- Understanding of geotechnical drilling operations
- Mechanical and electrical competence with strong troubleshooting ability
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- High attention to detail in a live data environment
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Ability to work independently on site
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and site conditions
- Confident in client interaction and reporting
- Willingness to travel and work irregular or extended hours
Salary and Benefits
- Up to £32,000 per annum
