Lead, Optimise and Transform Logistics Operations
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Logistics Manager to take ownership of a diverse logistics operation within a growing and evolving business. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving logistics performance, cost optimisation, supplier management, and operational excellence across warehousing, transport, and third-party logistics providers.
This role would suit an ambitious logistics professional who thrives on improving performance, introducing structure, managing key supplier relationships, and delivering tangible business improvements. You'll have the opportunity to shape the logistics function, influence strategic decisions, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
The Opportunity
As Logistics Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end logistics function, ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of goods while maintaining exceptional service levels and cost control.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you will be responsible for driving operational performance across transport, warehousing, packaging, inventory management, and asset utilisation. You will also play a key role in developing the logistics strategy, enhancing visibility through reporting, and ensuring logistics remains a valued and trusted business function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all logistics activities including transport, warehousing, and third-party logistics operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with 3PL providers, transport partners, and suppliers, ensuring performance against agreed service levels.
- Take ownership of logistics budgets and P&L, identifying opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining service and quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations, implementing efficiencies, and delivering measurable cost savings.
- Lead logistics transformation projects, including supplier transitions, process improvements, and network optimisation initiatives.
- Develop reporting and KPI frameworks to improve visibility of logistics performance, costs, and service delivery.
- Ensure robust inventory control processes are in place to maintain stock accuracy and operational integrity.
- Drive health, safety, and compliance standards across logistics operations, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Act as the escalation point for operational challenges, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
- Work collaboratively with supply chain, production, customer service, and commercial teams to support wider business objectives.
- Lead and develop logistics personnel and service providers, creating a high-performing and engaged logistics operation.

About You
We're looking for a proven logistics leader with experience managing complex logistics operations and outsourced service providers.
You will likely have experience in:
- Logistics, transport, or supply chain management within a manufacturing, distribution, or operational environment.
- Managing 3PL providers and driving significant improvements in service, cost, and operational performance.
- Delivering cost-saving initiatives and improving logistics efficiency through process optimisation.
- Managing logistics budgets, spend, and commercial supplier relationships.
- Leading transport transitions, warehousing improvements, or wider logistics transformation projects.
- Developing reporting structures, KPIs, and performance management frameworks.
- Driving stock accuracy, operational control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Creating a strong health and safety culture within logistics operations.
- Building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
