Logistics Manager

Role Description

The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing logistics operations to ensure the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of goods across the supply chain. This role works closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, carriers, warehouse personnel, and internal stakeholders to maintain smooth logistics processes while supporting operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing transportation activities, inventory movement, warehouse coordination, order fulfillment, and distribution planning.
  • Monitoring daily logistics operations, developing strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Evaluating logistics performance, identifying process improvement opportunities, and implementing best practices to increase productivity and operational effectiveness.
  • Supporting demand planning, inventory management, shipment scheduling, and carrier coordination to ensure timely deliveries and optimal resource utilization.
  • Analyzing logistics data, preparing operational reports, monitoring key performance indicators, and recommending solutions based on performance trends.
  • Collaborating with procurement, operations, customer service, finance, and other business functions to align logistics activities with organizational objectives and business priorities.
  • Contributing to the selection and management of logistics service providers, supporting contract administration, monitoring transportation costs, and helping develop contingency plans to minimize supply chain disruptions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, transportation management, warehousing, inventory control, and distribution processes.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and logistics best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, or similar business applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Strong negotiation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, demand planning, freight coordination, and logistics performance metrics.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and process improvement capabilities.
  • Adaptability, initiative, and a proactive approach to identifying operational efficiencies.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability when handling business operations and confidential information.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and delivering high-quality logistics solutions.
