The Purpose

The UK Logistics Manager is responsible for safeguarding the secure, compliant, and efficient movement of all jewellery, diamonds, and non-valuable goods in and out of the UK. The purpose of this role is to ensure:

  • Full compliance with import and export legislation
  • Protection of De Beers London (DBL) property
  • Operational excellence across every stage of the logistics process

You will lead a highly capable logistics function that supports the business with speed, accuracy, and a strong commercial focus. Through clear data, robust processes, and proactive problem-solving, you will:

  • Elevate carrier performance
  • Control costs
  • Reduce risk
  • Ensure the smooth flow of stock across stores, events, e-commerce, and wholesale partners

Your leadership, precision, and operational discipline will strengthen our supply chain, enable confident decision-making, and uphold the integrity of our brand.


Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee all UK cross-border logistics operations, ensuring the secure, compliant, and efficient movement of jewellery, diamonds, and non-elite goods.
  • Ensure full import and export compliance, maintaining:
    • Accurate declarations
    • Correct customs regimes
    • Alignment with legal, security, and insurance requirements
  • Lead and develop the logistics team, setting clear objectives and ensuring strong operational delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely stock-handling processes, including:
    • Receiving
    • Movement
    • Reconciliation
    • Audit readiness for jewellery and diamond stock
  • Manage carrier performance, ensuring service levels, costs, and KPIs support business and market needs.
  • Own and be responsible for key logistics documentation and governance, including:
    • Customs records
    • Security protocols
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Internal manuals
  • Coordinate logistics support for UK commercial activities, including:
    • Store replenishment
    • Events
    • E-commerce
    • Operational initiatives
  • Control logistics costs by:
    • Monitoring spend
    • Validating charges
    • Contributing to budget management and operational efficiency
  • Oversee packaging and visual merchandise logistics, ensuring:
    • Consistent stock availability
    • Effective stock control
    • Timely distribution to stores and markets
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, providing logistics expertise to:
    • Highlight risks and opportunities
    • Support confident decision-making across the business
  • Provide clear, actionable logistics insights to senior management, including:
    • Operational risks
    • Compliance considerations
    • Carrier performance trends
    • Cost opportunities for informed decisions

  • Interest and understanding in luxury and jewellery to strengthen decision-making discussions.
  • Advanced analytical capability to use data for risk identification, carrier performance, and operational decisions.

    • Security partners
  • High operational discipline, including:
    • Rigorous documentation
