The Logistics Operations Team plays a vital role within our Business Operations Division, mirroring the impressive growth the company has experienced in recent times. This expansion reflects not only the team's increasing responsibilities but also their importance to the business.

The team's remit is broad, encompassing several critical functions such as logistics management, in-depth analysis, process improvement, sustainability initiatives, invoicing, and handling both pre- and post-order queries. These varied duties ensure that the team remains at the heart of operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Your Role

This Logistics position forms an integral part of the Logistics Operations Team, providing daily operational support to a busy sales and distribution department. The role is both varied and fast-paced, offering valuable insight into the processes of virtual warehousing and production order management. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing a shared inbox, which receives requests and queries from both internal colleagues and external contacts. You will also be tasked with ensuring that all required forms are completed accurately, and that ETA and invoice dates are maintained correctly. This diligence helps keep Partners and Customers informed about the status of their orders.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Managing shared inboxes via Microsoft Outlook, dealing with a range of requests and queries.
  • Processing monthly invoice orders efficiently to support business operations.
  • Collaborating with Logistic Partners and Sales Teams to resolve order-related queries.
  • Assisting Sales Teams in preparing quotes for all logistics-related requirements.
  • Ensuring all compliance documentation for logistics is completed, provided, and correctly filed for each order.
  • Supporting Account Managers in resolving invoicing queries and discrepancies.
  • Providing ad-hoc administrative support to the wider team, facilitating the smooth running of the department.
  • Managing Softcat Customer stock inventory in partnership with logistics providers.
  • Coordinating with key supplier partners regarding Softcat stock management.

  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • High standard of literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain large volumes of information.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
  • Hardworking and conscientious approach to work.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute positively as a member of a busy team.
