Job Description: Interim Logistics Operations Specialist
Manpower are currently seeking an interim Logistics Operations Specialist to work with our global FMCG client, Elida Beauty, renowned for brands such as TIGI, VO5, Toni & Guy, and Brylcreem, and become an integral part of their fast-paced environment.
The position is based in Holborn, London. This is a full-time temporary role for 12 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £48,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.
The role currently offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to adjustment based on business requirements.
Key Accountabilities
Inbound Transportation
- Coordinate inbound shipments from suppliers, manufacturing sites, and ports to warehouses or distribution centres.
- Monitor shipment status and communicate delivery updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, transport providers, and 3PL partners to ensure smooth receipt of goods.
- Investigate and resolve shipment delays, shortages, damages, or documentation issues.
- Verify shipping documentation including invoices, packing lists, and delivery notes.
- Support inventory discrepancy investigations with warehouse and logistics partners.
Warehouse Operations
- Support daily warehouse operations through close coordination with 3PL partners.
- Monitor inbound receipts, inventory movements, order processing, and dispatch activities.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular reconciliation and stock count support.
- Track warehouse performance against agreed service levels and KPIs.
- Participate in operational review meetings and follow up on corrective actions.
- Support pallet management programs and customer-specific logistics requirements.
- Ensure adherence to company safety, quality, and operational standards.

Outbound Transportation
- Coordinate customer and distributor deliveries to meet agreed service levels.
- Monitor carrier performance and delivery execution.
- Ensure shipping documentation is accurate and completed on time.
- Investigate delivery exceptions and work with stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Support urgent order deliveries and customer escalations when required.
Customs & Compliance
- Support import and export documentation processes.
- Coordinate with customs brokers and freight forwarders to facilitate timely customs clearance.
- Maintain customs, shipping, and compliance records.
- Monitor shipment clearance status and proactively escalate potential delays.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulatory requirements.
Repacking/Co-packing Operations
- Coordinate repacking and co-packing activities with external logistics partners.
- Monitor inventory availability and material readiness for repack activities.
- Track order fulfilment and completion against agreed timelines.
- Communicate operational issues and support resolution with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain records of repack and co-pack activities.
Cost & Invoice Management
- Support tracking of transportation, warehousing, and logistics-related costs.
- Validate logistics invoices and ensure timely processing.
- Assist with freight cost reporting and reconciliation activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support budget tracking and cost analysis activities as required.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Prepare weekly and monthly logistics performance reports.
- Monitor and report KPIs including On-Time Delivery (OTD), Inventory Accuracy, Order Fulfilment Performance, Freight Cost Performance, Warehouse Service Levels, and Damaged Stock Ratio.
- Maintain logistics dashboards and operational records.
- Support data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder & 3PL Coordination
- Build effective working relationships with 3PL providers, carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
- Coordinate issue resolution and escalation where required.
- Support regular service review meetings with logistics partners.
- Ensure logistics activities are executed in line with agreed service expectations.
Key Requirements
- Experience in logistics, warehousing, transportation, or supply chain operations, preferably within an FMCG environment.
- Exposure to customs and international logistics processes, particularly import and export documentation.
- Experience working with 3PL service providers and transport carriers.
- Experience in inventory management and order fulfilment processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with ERP, WMS, or TMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
Additional Information
- Occasional UK based travel required for warehouse visits, 3PL meetings, and operational reviews.
