Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and driven Weekend Logistics Operations Team Leader to ensure operational excellence across logistics and production processes. This critical role requires managing internal transactions, overseeing kitting operations, and enabling just-in-time delivery—all while maintaining efficiency and quality in a high-performance environment.

You will lead the weekend team, ensuring seamless operations from Friday 06:30 to Sunday 18:30, and maintain rigorous standards throughout weekend shifts.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

  • Manage and oversee all internal transactions during the weekend shift.
  • Ensure accurate processing, movement, and reconciliation of inventory across all activities.
  • Maintain strict data integrity within operational and inventory systems.

Kitting & Materials Management

  • Lead the kitting process, guaranteeing all components are prepared, correctly allocated, and free of errors.
  • Quickly resolve shortages or issues to prevent disruptions in production.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners to align material deliveries with production timelines, ensuring just-in-time delivery.

Just-in-Time (JIT) Delivery Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with production and assembly teams to ensure seamless material flow.
  • Minimise downtime and maximise efficiency by synchronising logistics with operational needs.

Work Order & Quality Control

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve errors or inconsistencies in work orders.
  • Prepare and complete MPI reports for non-conforming work, collaborating cross-functionally to drive resolutions.
  • Engage with engineering, quality, and production teams to uphold standards.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, support, and motivate the weekend team to meet operational targets and goals.
  • Set clear expectations and maintain high performance under time pressures.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive working environment.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all activities comply with company safety policies and regulations.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks.
  • Promote high behavioural standards across the team.

Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • Proven team leadership experience in logistics, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and transaction processing.
  • Familiarity with kitting methodologies and just-in-time delivery logistics.
  • Experience with MPI reporting systems or similar quality management processes.
  • Keen attention to detail and unwavering commitment to quality assurance.
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, including team engagement and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications
