Job Description Summary Working for the Logistics Supervisor the role function is to receive efficiently, safely, store, maintain and issue materials for our Transformer manufacturing business in Stafford. Job Description Scope: Loading and unloading goods from vehicles. Moving materials packed on pallets or in crates around the Lichfield Road site. Storing materials in the correct storage zones, following stock control instructions Comply with GE LSP. Performing daily equipment checks, for example recharging the truck's battery etc. Helping to load and unload trucks by hand where necessary. Kitting of materials & components to ensure they are delivered to the right area at the right time in line with the MPS. Input data accurately remotely or directly into SAP to ensure the company’s material handling system remains up to date. Make recommendations to improve and develop the materials operations. Maintain accurate records & documentation for storage. Preservation of materials & components under the direct control of the warehouse (internally & externally). Support the maintenance of logistics equipment through preventative measures. Support business Continuous Improvement initiatives when requested. Comply with all business policies and procedures that may affect Quality, Health, Safety Environment Undertake routine cycle counting, stock takes and investigating discrepancies. Any other reasonable duties within individuals’ capabilities Responsibilities: Material delivery forms a key part of the successful building of transformers on time. The liquidated damages associated with late delivery can run into 100,000’s of pounds hence the importance of ensuring materials are delivered on time without damage, deterioration or loss.
