The Role: Logistics Operator
This role is hands-on, operating from our West Wales Airport site. You’ll drive efficiency in logistics—from receiving and storing parts to supporting aircraft testing, servicing, and dispatch. Your mission is to ensure the right components arrive, are stored correctly, and go to the right place at the right time.
You are part of building the site’s logistics operation as it grows under the OVERMATCH programme, collaborating closely with: ✔ Supply Chain ✔ Production Planning & Control ✔ Quality ✔ Flight-test and servicing teams ✔ Assembly and integration cells
Key Responsibilities
Goods-in and Receiving
- Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders, delivery notes, and packing lists—checking quantity, part number, and condition.
- Handle materials with ESD-safe procedures and label them appropriately.
- Route materials for inspection where necessary before storage.
- Record all receipts accurately and in real time in the ERP/inventory system.
- Report any shortages, damage, discrepancies, or quality issues promptly via approved channels.

Stores and Inventory Management
- Correctly store, locate, and manage materials, including controlled-stock and ESD-sensitive items.
- Prepare and release stock for production works orders and requests.
- Perform cycle counts and stock audits, ensuring physical stock matches system records.
- Guarantee material integrity, preventing discrepancies between stock logic and reality.
Kitting and Production Support
- Assemble and issue intelligent kits to assembly, integration, and other teams.
- Replenish line-side and point-of-use materials to guarantee zero downtime for production.
- Serve as the direct logistics link for drones and associated components.
Testing, Servicing, and Deployment
- Safely transport aircraft, sub-assemblies, and ground support equipment across stores, workshops, hangars, and flight lines.
- Manage and track serialized, rotable items for test/repair cycles.
- Receive expedited aircraft post-flight-test/deployment, log details, and route them for servicing.
- Prepare and supply spares packs, field service kits, and deployment kits for test campaigns and trials.
- Handle batteries, payloads, and controlled items with safety-focused due diligence.
Dispatch and Shipping
- Pick, pack, and document outgoing goods for safe and accurate dispatch.
- Generate packing lists, transport documents, and ADR/IATA declarations as needed.
- Double-check shipments for correctness before release.
- Organize collections from carriers and couriers for timely fulfilment.
Equipment, Safety, and Housekeeping
- Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, and material-handling equipment safely (must be authorized).
- Follow health, safety, and security protocols at every stage.
- Maintain a clean, organized 5S-compliant warehouse with audit-ready visibility.
- Push for continuous operational improvements.

What You’ll Bring
Essential Requirements
✅ Proven experience in logistics, warehousing, goods-in, or shipping/receiving—preferably in manufacturing or engineering. ✅ Strong knowledge of logging, inventory control, and ERP systems. ✅ Hands-on confidence in handheld scanners and data accuracy. ✅ Organized, detail focused, and time-efficient with reliability as a priority. ✅ High standards of English (spoken and written). ✅ UK SC clearance eligibility, including BPSS from day one.
Desirable Experience
✔ Forklift licence (counterbalance or reach). ✔ Dangerous goods (ADR/IATA) certification or willingness to train. ✔ Experience working with ESD components or controlled/stock audit. ✔ Background in aerospace, defence, electronics, or regulated manufacturing. ✔ Aerospace maintenance experience, including aircraft transport, ground support operations, and MRO teams. ✔ Exposure to 5S, lean principles, or other process efficiency methodologies.
