A Logistics Planning Analyst is responsible for supporting the warehouse managing small components for all CAT factories located in Europe by designing and implementing all related logistics processes, equipment, storage concepts, new service offerings and working with other Logistics engineers within more complex logistics projects. This position is part of a broad Logistics team covering all regions where Caterpillar is producing machines and Engines.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Caterpillar UK Logistics Centre based in Desford from a technical perspective on the design & implementation of logistics projects.
- Supporting other Project Managers working on more complex projects in other Business Units in UK and abroad.
- Support logistics projects of varying sizes to support 1 -2 projects at a time.
- Collaborate with local Supply Chain, Transportation, Quality and Packaging teams to ensure designed processes meet the requirements of each functional area.
- Data purification & analysis; warehouse storage design & manufacturing point-of-use (POU) design; machinery & equipment design and procurement; workforce & equipment planning; logistics process design; inventory transfer & rearrangement planning; integrating supply chain knowledge into warehouse design;
- Project management
- Knowledge of WMS system (preferably Glovia and/or Blue Yonder) and integrate this into the overall process and/or new service design.
- Demonstrate marginal skill levels of the following values-based competencies (VBCs): integrity & trust; building inclusive relationships; customer focus; problem solving; priority setting; and dealing with uncertainty.

Background/Experience (Required):
- University degree in a related field OR equivalent experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time throughout the year, with some months in excess of that.
Background/Experience (Desired):
- Some related experience, preferably in warehouse operations, supply chain, or manufacturing
- Strong PC Skills (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, & AutoCAD)
- Knowledge of one or more of the following WMS (Glovia, Blue Yonder)
- University degree in supply chain, logistics, or industrial engineering

Job Details:
Job Title: Logistics Planning Analyst
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience
Contract: Permanent
