Job Title & Structure
Title: Logistics Planning Support Technician Salary: Starting at £28,900, rising to £30,450 upon meeting role triggers Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours/week), Day shifts, Fixed-Term (12 months) Location: Desford, Leicestershire
The Opportunity
As a Logistics Planning Support Technician, you’ll support the coordination and improvement of logistics planning activities within Building Construction Products, Leicester, with a focus on Fleet Operations.
You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, managing high-volume data and invoice activities while ensuring processes are accurate, efficient, and aligned with the Caterpillar Production System (CPS) principles.
What You’ll Do
Your key accountabilities include:
- Supporting logistics process improvement to enhance safety, efficiency, and consistency
- Managing and analysing high-volume logistics data and invoices, ensuring precision, identifying discrepancies, and reducing financial and operational risks
- Driving Continuous Improvement (CI) activities—resolving day-to-day challenges and implementing sustainable, practical improvements for Fleet Operations
- Collaborating across teams to support logistics planning and Fleet activities, balancing competing priorities such as breakdowns, servicing, invoicing, and quotations
- Creating, updating, and auditing Standard Work documentation in line with CPS and Quality Management System (CQMS) standards

- Apply continuous improvement methods (e.g., Lean, CPS techniques) to streamline processes
- Use digital tools (e.g., MS Excel, Power BI, Coupa, Next Gen) for data management and analysis
- Have an awareness of logistics, operational, or Fleet processes supporting planning and execution
