Taw Valley Creamery, Devon

We have an exciting Logistics Technician role to join our Taw Valley Creamery team. This is especially exciting as the creamery is undergoing a major transformation, thanks to a £179 million investment. As this project evolves and the site expands, so will the opportunities to make an impact.

We are looking for somebody who is highly motivated with great communicating skills, who is happy to work within a small team and a critical department of the business.

The role will be shift based, working 12-hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off pattern with rotating days and nights.

How you will make an impact

  • Responsible for loading finished goods pallets onto lorries using Manual Handling Equipment (MHE).
  • Operates yard shunting, moving refrigerated box trailers between the trailer yard and loading docks.
  • Uses experience and knowledge of end-to-end logistics processes to support day-to-day departmental operations, helping to ensure activities are carried out effectively.
  • Coordinates shift handovers, facilitates team collaboration, and handles initial problem-solving and issue escalation

Ideal Candidate

  • Ideally an experienced Counterbalance/Reach truck driver.
  • Experience with either forklift truck (FLT) operation or yard shunting.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred, though full training will be provided.
  • Ability to support your team, make sound decisions to protect quality and food safety, and take accountability for your own tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a basic understanding of logistics principles such as 5S, Gemba, or Kaizen are desirable.
  • The role also offers opportunities to train in areas such as Food Safety Level 3, HACCP Level 3, Train the Trainer, and Internal Audit Level 3.
