RVH Emergency Department Locum Doctor – Registro Based

Location: Northern Ireland, UK (Remote initially, then on-site) Duration: August 2026 – August 2027 (1:13 rotating rota) Hours: Day shifts, evenings, nights, and weekends

As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking an experienced locum doctor at registrar (reg) level to join the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH ED) from August 2026 until August 2027. You will work as part of the 1:13 on-call rota, covering day shifts, evenings, nights, and weekends.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality emergency medical care to patients in the RVH A&E department.
  • Support the team in managing acute, traumatic, and medical admissions.
  • Ensure adherence to NHS safety, operational, and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide seamless patient handover.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid GMC Registration with an full unrestricted licence to practise in the UK.
  • UK Right to Work status.
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in a UK-based emergency medicine locum or comparable role.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in emergency medicine (UK-based preferred).

Desirable Criteria

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in anaesthetic/ICU with demonstrable airway management skills.
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
  • Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) certification.
  • MRCEM or equivalent qualification.
