Trainee Biomedical Scientist/Specialist Biomedical Scientist

Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin

Band 5: £34,544- £43,039 (Trainee) / Band 6: £43,231-52,679 Pro Rata per annum

Hours: 15 hours per week

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists with Specialist Portfolio in Clinical Biochemistry, OR, from Graduates with an Applied Biomedical Science (Hons) degree or a Biomedical Sciences (Hons) degree which is accredited by the IBMS as suitable for training purposes.

  • Newly graduated candidates, if successful, will be rotated on Band 5 and be required to complete their Specialist Portfolio prior to progression to Band 6.
  • Qualified and experienced Biomedical Scientists will be placed at Band 6 level.
  • Candidates with more than 1 year’s experience working as an HCPC registered BMS will not be considered for a Trainee position and must meet the Band 6 Person Specification.
