Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Crawley
Position: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: ASAP / Negotiable
The Role
We are a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Crawley seeking a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join our hard-working Inclusion department.
In this role, you won't just be helping out in a classroom; you will be a vital lifeline for students with diverse learning needs. You will work closely with teaching staff to adapt resources, provide one-to-one support, and foster an environment where every student—regardless of their starting point—feels capable of achieving their best.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting students with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) in 1:1 or small group settings.
- Assisting the classroom teacher in managing behavior and maintaining a focused learning environment.
- Helping to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitoring student progress.
- Building strong, trusting relationships with students to boost their confidence and engagement.

About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Patient and empathetic: You understand that progress looks different for every child.
- Proactive: You can spot where help is needed before being asked.
- A strong communicator: You can explain complex ideas in simple, accessible ways.
- Qualified/Experienced: Previous experience in a school setting or a relevant NVQ Level 2/3 is desirable, but a can-do attitude and a commitment to safeguarding are essential.
