The Role
The Senior Project Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific plays a strategic function, overseeing the successful execution of high-impact projects across disciplines. Your expertise will guide cross-functional teams through complex initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, risk mitigation, stakeholder alignment, and meeting business and quality objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple, high-priority projects simultaneously across a diverse set of initiatives
- Leading the complete project lifecycle, from concept to implementation, ensuring alignment with business strategy and operational excellence
- Collaborating with senior leadership to define and execute process improvements, new technologies, and transformational initiatives
- Driving operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, FDA) and GMP requirements (preferred)
- Overseeing project budgets, timelines, risks, and scopes, ensuring adherence to quality and financial targets
- Facilitating cross-functional stakeholder engagement, resolving conflicts, and securing commitment to project goals
- Implementing continuous improvement methodologies to enhance overall performance

Requirements
Education & Experience
- Requirements:
- An advanced degree and 6 years of experience (or a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience) in complex, cross-functional project management
- Preferred Fields:
- Engineering, business, life sciences, or a related discipline
Certifications & Skills
- Highly desirable:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or its equivalent
- Track record of successfully managing multiple projects with combined budgets exceeding $500K
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Agile/Scrum)
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (FDA, ISO) and GMP compliance
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills to engage stakeholders at any level of the organization
- Proven ability to work without direct authority in a matrix environment
- Strong change management, problem-solving, and analytical mindset
- Advanced organization and attention to detail
