Luggage Porter / Door Person – London (Sea Containers London)
About the Role
A lifestyle hotel nestled on London’s vibrant South Bank, Sea Containers London blends eccentricity, glamour, and brutalist elegance—making it a thriving riverfront destination. With 354 bedrooms, award-winning food and drink outlets, and an energetic atmosphere, this is your London anchor on the River Thames.
We seek a passionate, guest-focused Luggage Porter/Door Person to join our Front Office team. This highly visible, guest-facing role requires you to deliver seamless service at every stage of a guest’s journey—from arrival to departure.
As one of the first and last people guests interact with, you’ll create exceptional first impressions and deliver intuitive service. Warmly welcoming guests, assisting with luggage, supporting arrivals & departures, and maintaining an active presence at the hotel entrance and lobby are core responsibilities. You’ll also form local recommendations, arrange transportation, assist during peak periods, and ensure every experience is memorable.
Additionally, the role includes valet service support, including safely driving guest vehicles, requiring a full UK driving licence as a mandatory requirement.
Responsibilities
- First & Last Impressions: Warmly greet guests and facilitate smooth arrivals/departures, ensuring every interaction reflects Sea Containers London's unique charm and professional standards.
- Luggage & Concierge Assistance: Handle luggage with care, offer local recommendations, and arrange transportation when required.
- Front Office Support: Pitch in during busy periods to maintain seamless hotel operations.
- Valet Services: Assist with guest vehicle management, including safe driving.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Front Office team to ensure daily operations run smoothly.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
