We are looking for a new cook to join our dedicated team of staff and volunteers at Raleigh House, Staywell's flagship day centre in New Malden. This is the perfect role for someone with experience in a professional kitchen looking to help older or vulnerable people in the local community.

Role description

As a member of the kitchen team, you will be at the heart of the day centre's day-to-day operations, preparing and serving a two-course meal to our members daily using mainly fresh, seasonal ingredients. Alongside this main offering, you will also be preparing simple alternatives which account for specific dietary or health needs as required.

The safety and wellbeing of our day centre members is Staywell's top priority, and it starts in the kitchen. You will be responsible for keeping the kitchen clean, tidy, and hygienic, in compliance with food safety standards, as well as overseeing food hygiene inspections, and diligent record-keeping. This includes planning varied and nutritious menus in advance, and ensuring stock is rotated or ordered in a timely and cost-effective manner.

You will work closely alongside the rest of our friendly and close-knit Raleigh House team, liaising with them to determine the number of meals required each day to help minimise wastage, and to enable each week's menu to be published.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
