Lunchtime Assistant

📍 Location: Sandhurst 🕑 Hours: 10:30am – 2:30pm (20 hours over 5 days) 💷 Salary: Up to £13.01 per hour

🎯 Responsibilities

🍽 Lunchtime Supervision

Support children during meals and create a positive environment while:

  • Modeling and encouraging good table manners.
  • Ensuring calm, engaging mealtime atmospheres.
  • Assisting children in feeling comfortable and confident during lunch.
  • Managing allergies safely and correctly.
  • Supporting feeding, weaning, or bottle-feeding when necessary.
  • Ensassing smooth transitions between lunch and the next activity.

Deliver meaningful activities while practitioners take breaks, including:

  • Supporting daily routines & transitions.
  • Encouraging independence (handwashing, self-feeding, dressing).
  • Providing comfort and reassurance as needed.

Maintain high standards in:

  • Supporting personal care routines (before/after meals).
  • Keeping environments clean, safe, and organised.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues.

A Sample Day in Your Shoes

🕘 10:30am – Arrive, settle in, prepare for lunchtime. ⏱ 11:30am–12:00pm – Support mealtime, encourage independence. ☕ 12:00–12:30pm – Help with transitions (toileting, handwashing, rest). 🎨 1:00pm – Supervise play or quiet activities. ☀ 2:00pm – Assist with team handover and tidy up. 🚡 2:30pm – Head home!
