Permanent, Term Time Only Grade 2 / Spine Point 3-4
Salary: £24,796 – £25,185 per annum (FTE) Actual Salary: £2,882 – £2,927 per term Hours: 5 hours per week (1 hour daily, 12:30–1:30pm) Paid Weeks: 44.85 weeks per year

About the Role
St Bartholomew’s CE Multi Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisor to join their welcoming and caring team at St Bartholomew’s CE Primary School.
This role is essential in supporting children’s needs before, during, and after lunch, ensuring a positive behaviour and well-being environment. You must have strong people skills, particularly working effectively with young children, and the willingness to promote their welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and engagement:
- Directly supervise children during breakfast club, lunch and break times to ensure safety and wellbeing
- Assist children with their table manners and cutlery etiquette where needed

Safety and maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness of eating areas through regular sanitising and cleaning
- Resolve minor conflicts across conditions, encouraging positive behaviour
Activities and development:
- Organise and lead appropriate games and activities for children
- Have the capacity to administer basic first aid (after completing relevant training)
Requirements
- Effective communication skills when interacting with both children and adults
- Ability to adhere to school policies, including safeguarding principles, and ensure children’s best interests are prioritised at every turn
- Open to completing pre-employment checks such as:
- Enhanced DBS check
- Childcare Barred List and Prohibition List verification
- Medical fitness examination (where needed)
- Reference checks
Qualification & Compliance
It is mandatory to check eligibility for a work permit upfront. Successful applicants must have:
- A full CRB background check at least equivalent to the details above
- Must not be a barred person ( allegations under the Prevent Act 2015)
