Job Description

M&A Business Partner (Health Services)

Full time (Permanent)

Location: London (Angel Court, EC2R 7HJ)

Work Type: Hybrid working (3 days per week in the office)

Compensation: Competitive Salary + fantastic Bupa Benefits

Overview Of The Role

The successful individual will Business Partner with the Health Services Business Unit in order to advise and input into all finance and accountancy aspects of the valuation, transaction and integration. The individual will liaise with the relevant members of BU finance team to ensure the finance and accounting aspects of the transaction are well understood as well as obtain the necessary input from the senior BU members on relevant assumptions of the profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow of any potential transaction.

Specifically

  • Lead the financial evaluation and support of M&A transactions across Health Services, including acquisitions, divestments and business integrations.
  • Develop and maintain valuation models, coordinate cross-functional input to validate financial assumptions, and partner with senior stakeholders to assess commercial and financial impacts.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Building and managing P&L valuation models and financial forecasts.
  • Coordinating business and finance input to support transaction valuations and investment decisions.
  • Reviewing financial due diligence findings and assessing impacts on valuation, integration plans and business performance.
  • Benchmarking financial KPIs, margins and assumptions against internal and market standards.
  • Assessing transaction impacts on budgets, business plans and return on capital.
  • Leading financial aspects of acquisitions, divestments, capital injections and transaction accounting.
  • Managing finance due diligence, integration planning and stakeholder approvals.
  • Supporting SPA reviews, completion accounts, financial disclosures and post-transaction reporting.
  • Preparing financial analysis, forecasts and reporting overlays to support business planning and decision-making.

Key Skills/Qualifications Needed For This Role

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent from practice
  • Relevant post qualification commercial experience, including M&A ideally in healthcare provision and insurance
  • Experienced in financial due diligence, including determining QofE, Net Debt and adjusted working capital adjustments and considerations
  • Ability to carry out financial modelling
  • Skilled in problem solving, interpreting complex information and ability to translate their impact on transactions in a clear and logical way
  • Strong analytical and financial evaluation skills, with the ability to search out relevant information, insights, financial risk and opportunity and any other financial implications on the transaction
  • Skilled in managing large datasets, organising these in a way which can be easily digested by the business
  • Good influencing and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A good relationship builder, who can support and challenge colleagues at all levels of seniority including executive management from different functions in a constructive and effective manner.
  • Ability to manage numerous tasks/projects and work under pressure and adapting to changing and ambiguous situations
