As a Machine Learning & AI Materials Scientist
You will be a part of Dassault Systèmes Gen7 vision and actively contribute towards its implementation. Materials AI is a strategically important, rapidly growing, and evolving core technology that will underpin the future of all Dassault Systèmes brands materials-related products and services. Gen7 implementation of agentic workflows for modeling, simulation, and representation of materials is of critical importance to BIOVIA and to Dassault Systèmes in general. Generative materials and chemicals research will enable the prediction of novel materials with desired properties while taking into account such aspects as synthesizability, stability, cost, environmental impact.
Role Description & Responsibilities
- Software development for a Gen7 virtual assistant that is an expert in materials science.
- Software development for generative material and chemistry projects representing Gen7 virtual twins of materials, molecules, and reactions.
- Contribute towards creating and validating project plans for the materials AI team that will deliver the roadmap.
- Coordinating with QA to ensure new and existing functionality has appropriate automated test coverage.
- Work with the documentation team to document new features and improvements.
- Act as a technical expert on Materials AI and its supporting technologies. Be able to answer questions originating from customers as well as internally.
- Regularly present your work to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Keeping up to date with relevant tools, technologies, and processes. Seek out and act on opportunities to introduce them into the team.
- Contribute towards fostering a culture of openness, innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
- PhD or Master in materials science, chemistry, mathematics, computer science or related fields.
- Practical experience with deep learning and machine learning algorithms and the use of popular AI/ML frameworks.
- Experience in coding (web, cloud, algorithms, industry processes…).
- Experience of modern development techniques and environments (agile, web, cloud…) – will be an asset.
- Industry experience working on AI related projects, preferably in the materials domain – will be an asset.
- Experience working as part of and with geographically dispersed teams, leadership experience also welcome.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Excellent presentation skills.
